How A Cash Mob Can Give A Small Business A Huge Boost

Cash Mobs Good For Small Business

In the past, we’ve spoken about “flash robs” while our friends at PointBlank have concentrated on the friendlier “carrot mobs.” Today, we’re going to talk about a different kind of mob entirely.

It’s called the cash mob, and it’s just about the best thing that can happen to a small business aside from a meteor made of many crashing into its lobby. Basically, a group of customers storms a store, grabs a few items and pays for them. It’s nothing more than a mob of shoppers supporting a local business, and that’s a beautiful thing.

So far there’s just 36 of these nationwide, but I’m hoping we’ll soon learn they’re taking off from California to Maine. There’s no underlying political message here, just help for small business:

Here’s how it works: A bunch of customers flood a store at one time, grab a bunch of items, pay for them, and leave. The cash mobs are not protesting big business chains such as Wal-Mart and Target. Instead their goal is to add a financial boost to the local economy.

In a time where pretty much every local economy in the U.S. of A really needs a cash infusion, the cash mob is helping in some small way to fill that void. If you can get one started in your city or town, it’ll wind up being a benefit for your small business.
