Business trends come and go, but it’s wise to grab their bumpers as they speed past you.
Thankfully, the aptly named Small Business Trends has four trends you can jump on in the here and now as a small business. As always, we encourage you to read the full article, but we’ve got a brief breakdown of each point for you as you start your Thursday morning.
- Mobility. While few small businesses have embraced it—I suspect economics have something to do with it—mobile technology is becoming a great way to reach your target market. The open rate on texts is very high, and you can reach a younger audience with minimal effort once you set up the system. It’s worth exploration.
- Coupons. We’ll caution against diving into this one, as we’ve done before, but for the right business social coupon sites like GroupOn can be a huge boon. They’re certainly being heavily used now, so if you have the time and inclination to research it, do so.
- Subscriptions. Whether you’re using them or deploying them, subscription-based services can be a boon to your business. On the purchasing side, using subscriptions can save you money and time. A quarterly subscription service can also generate revenue for your company, and we love revenue.
- Seniors. While teenagers and young families are often targets for small business, it’s those 65 and older who oftentimes have more to spend and represent something of an untapped market. With the graying Baby Boomer population reaching that plateau within the next 15 years or so, now’s a great time to jump on the bandwagon.
